Job Description
Position Summary: Catalyze SV (CSV) seeks a fundraising professional to maintain and grow our org’s revenue. You will work closely with the Executive Director to execute the 2024 Fundraising Plan. Your success will be measured by these key metrics:
Executing our Fundraising Plan
Diversifying our revenue sources more evenly
Growing our revenue to $450,000 by the end of 2024 and $500,000 by the end of 2025.
Planning and executing successful fundraising events that meet or exceed revenue targets, namely our annual Catalyzing Change Awards in November
Your Job Responsibilities:
Provide strategy and oversight to achieve balanced revenue growth for Catalyze SV
Organize and lead regular fundraising meetings with our Executive Director & our Interim Deputy Director to track:
fundraising progress,
donor prospects,
grant applications, requirements, and reporting, and
how we share the workload
Cultivate new donors and retain existing ones
Develop and manage a major gifts program
Track, monitor, & pursue improvements on fundraising measures such as donor retention and event revenue
Shepherd new and existing grants through the entire process from identification to submittal to reporting
Draft and transmit fundraising appeals to potential and current donors through email and social media
Using technologies such as MailChimp, Eventbrite, and Google Workspace to manage and promote events
Highlight donors through CSV’s communications channels
Manage and executive all aspects of our annual awards event with a focus on securing sponsors
Partner on the planning and execution of other CSV events
CSV receives funding from numerous sources. These sources below will be managed by you and thus your primary responsibility:

Events: Catalyzing Change Awards
These sources are your secondary or shared responsibility:
Events: Tours and other Educational Events
Foundations
Nonprofit Sponsors
Government Grants

Agree with the strategies, goals & values of Catalyze SV
Experience raising funds from individual donors, corporations, and/or foundations
Exceptional relationship-building and maintaining skills
Communicate frequently and openly with colleagues and external partners
Comfortable with a CRM system (we use Little Green Light)
Measure and meet regular performance goals
Able to work independently
Can meet hard deadlines with thorough, quality work
Comfortable and can thrive in a small, entrepreneurial, resourceful organization where everyone pitches in and partners to get the work done
Compensation and Value:
CSV is a fiscally-sponsored project of Social Good Fund (SGF). Thus, you’ll legally be an employee of SGF and governed by its employment policies (unless otherwise specified by CSV).
You’ll receive several benefits as a full-time employee:

Compensation for you:
A salary of $70,000 - $80,000
A $30 monthly cell phone stipend
A $25 monthly transportation stipend
A possible spot bonus for truly exceptional work
You'll be paid every other week. You’ll work remotely up to 60% of the time, with regular in-person meetings and events. CSV co-works in Downtown San Jose for about 16 hours per week. You may work nights 1-2 times per month and weekends a few times per year. Your regular work hours may vary at times, giving you some flexibility in your schedule.
You’ll report to our Executive Director. CSV is invested in your success and growth, so you’ll have numerous opportunities for professional growth and mentorship.

About the Org
Mission: Catalyze SV’s mission is to engage community members, developers, & city leaders to envision and create sustainable, equitable & vibrant places for people in Silicon Valley. Catalyze SV was founded by community leaders in a living room in 2017. Since then, it has grown into a nonprofit organization with a budget of around $350,000 with 2 full-time staff and 2 part-time staff. You’ll be our third full-time staff person.
