CHP is seeking a Community Organizer who has experience in educating mono-lingual/bi-lingual communities regarding civic engagement or a related topic. The Community Organizer will be responsible for ensuring that CHP continues to be at the forefront of the CENSUS 2020 community activities throughout Santa Clara County and San Mateo County. This position will report to the Advocacy and External Relations Manager.
Work closely with CHP’s leadership to support the needs of the member health centers regarding CENSUS 2020 education to their staff and patients.
Establish effective relationships with key staff at 10 of our community health centers throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
Participate in meetings with the County of Santa Clara regarding CENSUS 2020 initiatives.
Update CHP leadership regarding issues of importance and accomplishments regarding CENSUS 2020.
Essential Tasks: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below satisfactorily.
Stay abreast of significant messaging regarding CENSUS 2020, including legislative and regulatory activity;
Represent CHP at California Primary Care Association (CPCA) and other state and advocacy groups associated with CENSUS 2020
Be able to coordinate Census outreach efforts among our community health centers, County of Santa Clara, and partner organizations.
Be able to plan, coordinate, and execute effective training sessions to employees of our community health centers and to the community-at-large in English, Spanish or Vietnamese.
