Committee for Green Foothills is seeking a confident, energetic individual who is passionate about our mission and our vision for the Community Advocates Leadership Academy (CALA). Founded in 2013, reimagined in 2019, and launching in January 2020, CALA will train a diverse and inclusive community of civic leaders across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to be a powerful force for the environment and equity in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Graduates will be in civic leadership positions of power to apply program learnings, advocacy skills, and bias and privilege training. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Leadership Academy Program Director will oversee and implement the CALA training program, alumni program, and evaluation, continuing to build upon CALA for greater impact. The Program Director must be able to design curriculum and conduct trainings for policy campaigns, be organized and detail-oriented, effectively manage multiple projects, and possess exceptional facilitation skills. The candidate must be competent in facilitating for shared leadership and relationship building and should be both self-aware and responsive to others in the learning environment. Our ideal candidate will have a strong capacity for making and running agendas, while at the same time being highly intuitive, adaptable, and tolerant of change and uncertainty. Finally, though this position requires strong people skills, the individual will also need to be a solid critical and strategic thinker.
