This is a full-time exempt position. The Programs and Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing and expanding three of ING’s flagship programs as well as managing ING’s communications channels. Specifically, the Programs Manager’s responsibilities include work in the following areas: Project Management: -Overseeing ING speakers’ bureau programs that include the Islamic Speakers Bureau, the Interfaith Speakers Bureau, and INGYouth -Overseeing impact evaluations Speaker Volunteers: -Recruiting and training new speakers for ING programs -Engaging speakers through events, webinars, evaluations, and other educational opportunities Speaking: -Delivering presentations for the Islamic Speakers Bureau (ISB) -Facilitating panels on a wide variety of topics for the Interfaith Speakers Bureau (IFSB) -Representing ING at community events Communications: -Managing ING’s social media channels -Creating and distributing regular email campaigns -Managing ING’s website for content and functionality -Managing Google Ad campaigns -Managing relationships with vendors -Reporting on social media, web traffic, and e-marketing metrics Skills Requirements: -Excellent organizational abilities for performing in a fast paced, multi-task environment -Cultivating relationships and working effectively with, and presenting a professional image to, multiple constituencies that represent diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds in different age groups -Strong understanding of WordPress and HTML, or a willingness to develop these skills -Facility for graphic design (Photoshop) and video editing software -Strong public speaking skills and facilitation of panels -Ability to independently manage time and assigned tasks effectively and efficiently -Willingness to learn from and collaborate with others -Well organized, detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize in a multi-task environment Education/Experience Requirements: -At least a bachelor’s degree in education, religious studies, marketing, communications, anthropology, or a related field. MA in any of these fields is a huge plus -At least two years’ experience in program management (college work experience may qualify) -Knowledge of and work within the Muslim and interreligious communities -Experience working with middle-school and high-school Muslim teens -Experience working with different social media platforms -Active involvement in community outreach and willingness to continue learning Reporting Relationships and Location: The Programs Manager can work out of ING’s Oakland or San Jose offices and reports to Ishaq Pathan, ING Bay Area Director.
