    Spanish-Speaking Bilingual Crisis Intervention Advocate

    Reporting to the Crisis Intervention Manager, the Crisis Intervention Advocate provides crisis counseling, safety planning, community referrals and information to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. The Crisis Intervention Advocate often serves as first point-of-contact for the community and completes intakes, assessments, and screenings to other department programs. The Crisis Intervention Advocate conveys empathy, respect, and compassion when delivering services. You are a member of a high-performing team who supports all activities related to daily program operations, including but not limited to 24-hour crisis-line response, crisis counseling sessions, intakes and needs assessments. The Crisis Intervention Advocate must not fail in effectively communicating survivor needs and/or any requests by community partners to the team. You must respond effectively to crisis situations and inform survivors and significant others of their options to support them in their unique path.

    We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and reliable individual with a high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Essential to this role is a demonstrated ability working with culturally and economically diverse individuals and families and ability to work with those impacted by trauma; a demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and to respond appropriately to unexpected situations. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills to work independently and as part of a team. You must have an understanding of feminism and a strong commitment to social justice. Additionally, an ideal candidate will possess knowledge of and sensitivity to domestic violence and sexual assault issues, trauma, gender equity and client-centered service provision.

    Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a social services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Key to success is the ability to be present in a changing work environment; the ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team with flexibility, initiative and a sense of humor; and the ability prioritize effectively and model healthy boundaries with empathy and compassion.

    Required: Cleared background check (fingerprinting), valid TB test, valid California driver’s license and auto insurance. Must have completed or be willing to complete a 65-hour California State Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor certification. (Training will be provided).

      Major Gifts Officer

      The Major Gift Officer will be responsible for leading fundraising initiatives with major gift donors and prospects through research, acquisition, cultivation and stewardship throughout the Bay Area. The Bay Area region is defined as far north as Marin and Napa County, as far south as Gilroy and as far east as Stockton. All efforts will be coordinated in partnership with the Senior Director of Individual Giving and the Individual Giving team, specifically driven towards current, past and prospective major gift donors. The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of 220 major gift donors and prospects and is directly responsible for raising $800,000 in major annual gifts each year. This role will be responsible for implementing strategies to effectively cultivate, solicit, steward, and upgrade individual major gift donors at the $1,000 and above level. Additional responsibilities will include the growth of the Major Gifts program through developing and implementing a Major Gifts Acquisition program in partnership with the Senior Director of Individual Giving. The Major Gifts Officer will work closely with the Senior Director of Individual Giving, the Individual Giving team, the Development team, the Workplace Giving team, as well as, board members and program staff.       Housing Specialist - Supportive Housing

Be a key part of shaping this future as our new Housing Specialist in our Housing Program. Reporting to the Senior Director of Housing and Development, the Housing Specialist is primarily responsible to identify scattered site housing units for clients who are homeless throughout Santa Clara County. The Housing Specialist works closely with landlords and property managers in building a network of readily available housing for our clients to move into and sustain for permanent housing. The Housing Specialist works closely with survivors and their advocates to identify their housing needs and pair them with available housing that meets their identified needs. Maintain a caseload of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking; assess housing and service needs; arrange, coordinate and monitor the delivery of individualized services, develop a goal plan to assist client in maintaining permanent housing. The Housing Specialist conveys empathy, respect and compassion to survivors when delivering services. The Housing Specialist is a member of a high-preforming team and supports all activities related to the coordination of permanent housing stability and operations. To ensure safety, the Housing Specialist must not fail to respond effectively to safety threats, conflicts and crisis situations. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or college course work in Human Services field or equivalent combination of education and experience in housing industry. Additionally have a minimum of two years’ experience working in social services or as a realtor, property manager or housing specialist and has a strong knowledge of Santa Clara County housing market and geography. Minimum two years’ experience with chronically homeless individuals and experience with housing vouchers. Desired: Bilingual, bi-cultural and bi-literate skills highly preferred. Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese languages. Prior experience providing case management or advocacy-based counseling highly preferred. Motivational Interviewing skills highly preferred. Provide information and referral assistance regarding available housing support to domestic violence service agencies and/or community programs. Qualifications: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or college course work in social services field or equivalent combination of education and experience in housing industry. Candidates should have knowledge of sensitivity to sexual assault and domestic violence issues, trauma, gender equity and/or other forms of oppression. Understanding and application of program theories such as trauma-informed care, feminist, and anti-oppression/anti-discrimination frameworks are key.
