The Housing Occupancy Specialist is an administrative position responsible for coordination, communication, and collaboration with AirBnB, and other internal and external housing opportunities for young adults and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This is an exciting new position that is part of a larger collaboration in San Jose to prevent and end homelessness by providing resources that include housing, education, employment and life skills development to best prepare college-engaged homeless youth for sustainability and success.
• Manage the AirBnB for work platform to identify immediate and short term housing options matched to individual or family needs. • Collaborate with BWC staff to manage all housing openings across programs to increase utilization rate by coordinating placements • Develop a client housing flow chart using real-time data to move youth seamlessly from one housing option to another • Develop processes, reports and other systems for communicating and filing housing openings • Prepare and facilitate presentations about housing occupancy data and trends • Process financial assistance for move in costs, deposits and/or delinquent rent. • Maintain accurate and timely data and produce housing occupancy reports and snapshots
QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Highly organized, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with excellent time management and customer service • Knowledge of on-line platforms and ability to navigate (AirBnB) • Experience providing services to clients of various racial, ethnic, socioeconomic backgrounds or sexual identity who are overrepresented in homeless populations such as Black, Latinx, and/or LGBTQ. • Current CPR and First Aid Certification required (or complete within 30 days of hire). Valid California driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle with current insurance that can be used for company business. Fingerprinting/background check and TB test required.
