As our direct care staff work with youth that are 18-24 years old, we require that applicants are at least 25 years old. Covenant House CA (CHC) is excited to announce the launch of its new transitional housing site in Santa Clara, CA, for youth experiencing homelessness. Made possible by a unique public/private partnership, Covenant House will open the site in mid-December 2020, marking CHC’s fifth site in CA . The staff at CHC Santa Clara will be part of a unique experience of being the first staff to ever work at the site, not only becoming a critical part of CHC’s history, but helping to develop a program that most effectively meets the needs of youth experiencing homelessness in the Santa Clara Valley. The staff will draw upon CHC’s 30+ years of experience serving youth, ages 18-24, while developing unique programming and services to meet the unique needs of youth in the SC Valley. The Community Involvement Coordinator (CIC) will be responsible for engaging the local community to connect with the mission of Covenant House (CHC) at all levels. The CIC will represent the agency in the public, to create awareness of the mission and goodwill with the community at-large. The focus will be on engaging individuals, corporations, social groups, churches, etc. to support the mission through donations, volunteer activities, positive youth engagement and promotion of our work in the community. The CIC will also be responsible for engaging, training, organizing and supervising the agency’s volunteer programs and workforce. This includes a mentorship program, corporate volunteer activities, and the agency’s intern programs. The CIC will work closely with both Program and Development staff to develop volunteer opportunities that benefit the youth and connect volunteers and donors to our mission. This includes cultivating new fundraising opportunities and creating maximum awareness of the mission of Covenant House.
