As an integral member of Opera San José’s patron facing teams, this position will play a leadership role in identifying, cultivating and soliciting donors, and strengthening corporate and community partnerships. This full-time position reports to the Managing Dir. of Institutional Strategy & Advancement and works closely with colleagues across all areas of the company. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, is able to recognize opportunities and anticipate the needs of others, and has extensive customer service experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with the fundraising team to establish annual goals for contributed revenue, and develop and execute strategies around cultivation of individual donors, annual giving, and special campaigns.
Manage a portfolio of major donors through all stages of identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, working closely with individual donors to help them accomplish their philanthropic goals and deepen their relationship with the company.
Identify, cultivate and steward donor prospects, establishing key deliverables.
Participate in marketing strategies and special donor publications and communication to promote giving opportunities.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Experience in fundraising or sales with a track record of success.
Comfortable being in a front facing role and speaking before groups or individuals.
