As Program Specialist, Middle School, you will be an essential part of an evolving program strategy team with two primary responsibilities crucial to BGCP’s Theory of Change and organizational strategic priorities: Middle School Programming and Middle School Success Advising (MSSA).
This position is full-time and reports to the Director, Curriculum and Instruction. The Program Specialist, Middle School, will lead the middle school program strategy across the organization. You will work closely with site leadership, BGCP’s strategy team, and curriculum partners to ensure staff are equipped to lead students in engaging, impactful learning experiences. The Program Specialist will be responsible for a combination of outsourcing and creating the content/curriculum and resources necessary for staff to implement high-quality academic and enrichment programs. The Program Specialist, Middle School will make recommendations for curriculum adoptions with the creation of scope-and-sequence of professional development to ensure instructors are equipped with the essential knowledge and skills to implement programs effectively. The Program Specialist, Middle School will conduct weekly program observations to keep a pulse on program quality and collect data which will ultimately impact improvements in program design and professional development. This Program Specialist will also be a key player in the design and implementation of the Middle School Summer Program.
As a part of BGCP’s Theory of Change process, one of our newly developed intensive services programs is our Middle School Success Advising program. This program provides 1:1 academic case management and group SEL lessons to our caseloads of middle school students who need additional support to stay on-track to successfully enroll in high school. As Program Specialist, Middle School you will be responsible for providing central support and leadership for the program as it is implemented across multiple sites. This includes providing support and professional development to the direct service staff implementing the program, and working closely with site leadership and direct service staff to ensure high impact through implementing the program with fidelity through observations, coaching conversations, and 1:1 check-ins.
