About the Role
Reporting to the Childrens Advocacy Center Coordinator II, the Children’s Advocacy Center Advocate provides direct advocacy, Pediatric SAFE response, legal advocacy with law enforcement and prosecution teams, community support and engagement, emotional support, and community referrals to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Provides on-site community response services i.e. crisis intervention, accompaniment, criminal justice advocacy and safety planning at Child Advocacy Center. Conducts intakes, screenings, and assessments for survivors to assess service needs; coordinate referrals to the community and other agency programs.
Build relationships with partner agencies and community organizations by providing advocacy to victims; connects survivors to services and increases community awareness of YWCA Silicon Valley Services as well as full breadth of community resources and options.
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and reliable individual with a high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Essential to this role is a demonstrated ability working with culturally and economically diverse individuals and families and ability to work with those impacted by trauma; a demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and to respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
