About the Role
The San Benito Environmental Associate will support Green Foothills’ advocacy work in northern San Benito and southern Santa Clara Counties by engaging on land use issues and development projects, researching regulatory and policy avenues for protection of open space, farmland and natural resources, and providing assistance to community members, organizations, and Indigenous tribes. Experience with environmental and land use policy and planning at the local level is a must, as well as deep ties to the San Benito community and a fundamental understanding of the cultural, political and economic landscape in San Benito County. Advocacy and/or community organizing experience and knowledge of ecology and conservation science is a plus. This is a full-time exempt position that will be mostly remote, with occasional work time in our Palo Alto office. Strong preference for candidates who currently reside in San Benito County.
