About the Org
Our mission: We connect unhoused people with the neighborhood through dignified, no-barrier-to-entry opportunities for positive social connection and support while beautifying public spaces.
How we do this: Through a community-based “party-in-the-park” homeless work and outreach program every other Saturday with 240+ unhoused and housed volunteers at Guadalupe Gardens and River Park in San Jose.
Who’s involved: A wide range of community partners across the public, private, and nonprofit sector, hundreds of unhoused and housed volunteers, and a very hard-working Neighborhood Hands Board of Directors and Executive Director.
How we started and where we are today: Since launching our pilot program in March 2020, we’ve grown from $55K in revenue and ~60 unhoused and housed volunteers per program in our first year to $640K in revenue in FY2023 and 240+ unhoused and housed volunteers per program today.
