Lisa founded Strickland Strategies to bridge a critical gap in the nonprofit sector, combining her extensive expertise in executive leadership and fund development to strengthen the organizations she serves. With a clear, no-nonsense approach, Lisa empowers nonprofit boards and staff to navigate complex challenges through collaborative leadership and sustainable fundraising strategies.

With nearly two decades of consulting experience, Lisa has worked with dozens of nonprofits, equipping them with the tools to fulfill their missions and maximize their impact. Her firm specializes in coaching, board development retreats, strategic planning, succession planning, interim development director services, and fund development planning and implementation.

Before launching her firm, Lisa held executive leadership roles at Fresh Lifelines for Youth, the Bill Wilson Center, and the Support Network for Battered Women. Her career has been dedicated to serving organizations that support society’s most vulnerable populations, including survivors of domestic violence, individuals experiencing homelessness, and at-risk youth.

Since relocating to the Central Coast, Lisa has continued her commitment to the nonprofit community, working with organizations such as R.A.C.E. Matters, Spokes, Lumina Alliance, and SLO Botanical Garden.
Lisa lives in Los Osos with her husband, Scott, and their three beloved dogs—Finn, Fergus, and Sage. And be warned: if you sit still long enough, she will absolutely share an abundance of photos of her adorable grandnieces.

I had the distinct privilege of working at Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) while we researched and implemented our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program. This experience proved to be transformative, as it motivated me to critically assess my unconscious biases and to deepen my understanding of the systemic oppression that continues to affect disenfranchised populations—specifically, those who do not identify as white, heterosexual, college-educated males. I remain committed to challenging myself to engage in practices that question long-held beliefs and attitudes that are unproductive and have historically failed to serve the broader community.

Every consulting project I undertake is a unique journey, with its tailored activities and desired outcomes. As such, each project is accompanied by a distinct fee structure that reflects its unique nature.
