Job Description

Housing Choices is URGENTLY hiring a full-time, hybrid Housing Coordinator to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in San Mateo County on their path to stable, independent living.

This position is hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote) with office days based at the Sobrato Center for Nonprofits 3460 W Bayshore Rd, Palo Alto, CA 94303

You’ll have your own desk in our suite and as a bonus, Sobrato regularly hosts free luncheons and snack gatherings where you can connect with colleagues from other mission-driven organizations and build meaningful community partnerships.

As a Housing Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in helping individuals with developmental disabilities find, secure, and maintain housing that meets their unique needs. You’ll work closely with a supportive team of Housing Coordinators and guide clients through every step of the housing process: from intake and applications to move-in and long-term stability.

Duties: - Conducting client intakes and helping individuals identify appropriate housing options - Supporting applications for both temporary and long-term housing - Coordinating with families, service providers, property managers, and community partners - Providing ongoing support to ensure housing stability and well-being - Tracking progress and outcomes using Salesforce and Google Drive

We’re Looking For Someone Who is: - Empathetic, patient, and an excellent listener - Comfortable working with individuals with diverse communication and processing styles - Organized and able to balance multiple responsibilities - Passionate about housing justice and disability inclusion

Minimum Qualifications: - BA/BS (completed or in progress) or at least 2 years of relevant social services experience - Experience working with low-income individuals preferred - Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, or Tagalog is a plus - Valid California driver’s license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle - Ability to pass a DOJ background check

Details: - Full-time (40 hours/week preferred) - Starting pay: $25.57/hour (those who are bilingual can get an additional rate) - Hybrid schedule (3 in-office / 2 remote) - Travel between office and residential locations required
