Shannon is an East Bay native born and raised in San Ramon. She is an advocate for affordable housing, healthcare reform and alternatives to incarceration. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from Emory University. After graduating, she began her policy career as a Policy and Strategy Intern at the National Youth Employment Coalition where she wrote their policy newsletter, and advocated for federal programs supporting opportunity youth. Prior to joining SVCN, Shannon worked as a Communications Intern at the Coalition for Juvenile Justice, writing blog posts and designing their Youth Justice Action Month campaign. When she isn't working, Shannon enjoys biking with her family, reading new books and playing video games.
